Abstract

This research is field research which examines the implementation of religious moderation regarding the rotating prayer program at SMA Negeri 3 Sorong City. The aim of this research is to realize religious moderation in daily life at school so that students can develop attitudes of tolerance, openness and the ability to live harmoniously in diversity. The method used was a qualitative descriptive method. Data analysis was carried out using a thematic analysis approach, which included transcription of interview data and observation notes. The research results show that the implementation of religious moderation in the rotating prayer program at SMA Negeri 3 Sorong City is very strong. It can be seen from the innovative initiative, namely the existence of a rotating prayer program every day after the morning assembly. This research concludes that this program can be a model applied in other schools to strengthen religious moderation and build a younger generation that is more tolerant, open, and able to live in a pluralistic society. Thus, the rotating prayer program at SMA Negeri 3 Sorong City is a concrete example of how education can play an important role in realizing inter-religious harmony in Indonesia.
