Abstract

This study examines the role of traditional arts in promoting multicultural values within educational and diverse social contexts. Utilizing a qualitative library research approach, the study explores current theoretical frameworks and empirical findings related to the connection between traditional arts and value-based education. The findings suggest that traditional art forms such as regional performances, ethnic music, and oral literature convey cultural narratives and symbols that embody multicultural values. These arts function as effective pedagogical tools to foster intercultural understanding and strengthen social cohesion across generations.The study further reveals that the successful integration of traditional arts into both formal and non-formal education depends heavily on participatory pedagogy, community engagement, and culturally responsive curricula. When traditional arts are contextualized within educational frameworks, they facilitate symbolic, affective, and experiential learningoffering a deeper impact than conventional instructional approaches. However, the absence of systematic evaluation models to assess the effectiveness of arts-based education presents a key challenge. Thus, this research recommends the development of a conceptual model for integrating traditional arts into multicultural education as a transformative strategy to address the challenges of globalization and build inclusive societies.
