Article Submission Instruction

Al-Fikr: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam only contains research articles (research articles) in Islamic education. Articles sent to editors have never been published or are not being submitted for publication in other media publications, evidenced by the author's statement which can be downloaded here, download the author's statement, and included at the time of online submission.

Submission of articles to Al-Fikr: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam can only be done through an online system (online submission), with the following steps:

  1. Manuscripts sent via the Online Submission System on the electronic portal Al-Fikr: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam
  2. The author must register on the Register page (click here). Select (check) the role of "Author" to be able to submit scripts online.
  3. After the registration process is complete, enter (log in) as an "author" using the user name (username) and password (password) at the time of registration.
  4. Start sending articles by clicking "New Submission". Article submission consists of 5 stages:
    1. Start, in the "Start" column, select "Journal Section (Article)". Check all the options in the "Submission Checklist" and "Copyright Notice". Click "Save and continue".
    2. Upload Submission, in the "Upload Submission" column, uploads the manuscript in MSWord / RTF format. Click "Save and continue".
    3. Enter Metadata, in the "Enter Metadata" column, fill in the "Author" column (author's data and affiliates, if there is more than one author, ask all authors to be entered by clicking Add Author, the manuscript will not be processed if the author is not entered in full as stated in the manuscript) and "Title and Abstract" (Article and Abstract Title). Fill in the References column according to the list of references listed in the manuscript. Click "Save and continue".
    4. Upload Supplementary Files, in the "Upload Supplementary Files" column, the author is obliged to upload the author's statement letter and can upload other supporting files such as ethical clearance, research questionnaires, data sets, or other material that supports the article writing. Click "Save and continue".
    5. Confirmation, in the "Confirmation" column, if all the data filled in is correct, click "Finish Submission" and the author will receive a Submission Acknowledgment (proof of submission) to the e-mail that was registered at the register.
  5. If the writer finds problems in the process of sending the manuscript through an online system, please contact the editorial team with the email address


Article Writing Format

Articles are typed using Microsoft Word / RTF with Times New Roman font size 10, spacing 1 and margins of paper: the left, right, top and bottom sides of 2.5 cm each on A4 size paper, and are numbered pages in the lower right corner. 

Al-Fikr: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam Texts should be divided into sections as follows:

  1. Title page, the title should be simple, concise, and informative with only the first word in capital letters. A shortened version of the title with a maximum of 14 words to perform the header must also be provided;
  2. Author name and affiliation, a list of all authors, as well as their corresponding addresses, and email addresses must be provided. Each address must begin with a numeric superscript that corresponds to the same superscript after the author's name. The address must contain all the information necessary for effective mail delivery. E-mail should also be provided to speed up communication between readers and authors. This information will be published unless the author requests otherwise;
  3. Abstract, abstract written in English which contains the main research issues, research objectives, methods, research results, and conclusions. Abstract written in one paragraph, not more than 200 words;
  4. Keywords, maximum of 5 keywords separated by commas, and represent titles;
  5. Introduction, the introduction contains a brief research background, brief reviews of various previous studies as well as research gaps from current research as well as brief research objectives. Relevant literature review and hypothesis development (if any) are included in this section;
  6. Methods, the research method describes the activity design, scope or object, main materials and tools, place, data collection techniques, operational definitions of research variables, and analysis techniques;
  7. Results and Discussions, results and discussion contain the results of research findings and discussion. The results contain the results of data analysis, while the discussion contains a combination of data exposure, theoretical studies, and previous research which are combined into one study that explains various proofs of hypotheses or answers to various studies conducted;
  8. Conclusion, the closing contains conclusions and suggestions. Conclusions describe the answers to the hypothesis and/or research objectives or findings obtained. The conclusion does not contain an iteration of the results and discussion, but rather a summary of the findings as expected in the goal or hypothesis. Suggestions present things that will be done in relation to further ideas from the research; and
  9. References, all references referred to in the text of the article must be listed in the Bibliography section. To create a reference must use the Mendeley application in APA 6th Edition format (American Psychological Association), please downloads the instructions here.
