Abstract

Discipline is a character that every person must have. If the character of discipline is truly applied, it will bring benefits to the discipline itself to make someone even better. And one of the efforts to realize a disciplined character is to implement congregational tahajjud prayers. The aim of this research is to determine the practice of congregational tahajud prayers in forming the disciplined character of students at the Salafiyah Syafi'yah Nurul Qadim Islamic boarding school, Sorong Regency. This type of research is a type of phenomenological research, and the approach used uses a qualitative approach both in terms of data collection and data analysis techniques. The results of research on the impact of implementing congregational tahajjud in shaping the disciplined character of santri are as follows: (1) santri are more disciplined in obeying Islamic boarding school regulations, (2) santri are more disciplined in carrying out activities, especially in terms of getting up early, (3) santri can divide and organize time well, (4) students are more enthusiastic in congregational prayers, (5) students can become religious figures. The three obstacles to the implementation of congregational tahajjud in shaping the disciplined character of santri are as follows: (1) lack of management staff to wake up the santri, (2) difficulty in waking up the santri, (3) long wait for the santri to gather at the mosque, (4) difficulty in arranging the prayer rows for the santri , (5) many students fall asleep while doing dhikr.
